About the Role We are offering a fixed-term opportunity of up to 12 months for a Team Leader - Alternative Shift Patterns.
We’re looking for a supportive, people‑focused leader to help deliver greater flexibility for staff who face challenges working the traditional 4‑on / 4‑off roster.
As the Team Leader – Alternative Shift Patterns, you’ll work closely with paramedics, rostering teams, Comms, and operational leaders to support sustainable shift options that better fit individual circumstances such as childcare, health needs, or other personal commitments.
In this pivotal role, you will serve as the direct line manager for staff working non-standard shift patterns (e.g., 3 on 3 off, Day (Awatea) Vehicle).

Lead and support paramedics working alternative rosters
Build strong relationships across operational teams
Help design, improve, and monitor flexible shift arrangements
Ensure staff wellbeing and service needs remain balanced
Promote equity, inclusion, and culturally safe practice
