As the Team Leader – Alternative Shift Patterns, you’ll work closely with paramedics, rostering teams, Comms, and operational leaders to support sustainable shift options that better fit individual circumstances such as childcare, health needs, or other personal commitments.

In this pivotal role, you will serve as the direct line manager for staff working non-standard shift patterns (e.g., 3 on 3 off, Day (Awatea) Vehicle).

What you’ll do

  • Lead and support paramedics working alternative rosters
  • Build strong relationships across operational teams
  • Help design, improve, and monitor flexible shift arrangements
  • Ensure staff wellbeing and service needs remain balanced
  • Promote equity, inclusion, and culturally safe practice

Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll bring

  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • A supportive, empathetic leadership style
  • Understanding of operational environments (or willingness to learn)
  • Commitment to staff wellbeing, flexibility, and equitable access

Why This Role?
This is your chance to make a meaningful impact on the culture and operations of emergency ambulance services. If you’re passionate about leading and supporting paramedic teams to deliver exceptional patient care, this role is for you.
