About the role

The Senior ICT Systems Administrator is responsible for the technical ownership, stability, and continuous improvement of WFA’s ICT environment. This role provides senior level engineering expertise, leads technical decision making, and sets standards across infrastructure, cloud, and end user environments. The role also acts as a technical escalation point within the ICT team.

Operating across both operational and tactical levels, the Senior ICT Systems Administrator contributes to solution design, technical standards, and system optimisation, exercising independent judgement to resolve complex issues and lead technical problem management.

In the Wairarapa, our area goes as far north as Mt Bruce. In total, around 500,000 people call our region home. Desired Skills and Experience

Who we are looking for

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:

  • 5 years+ work experience in ICT, with at least 3 years in a systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or senior technical support role
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft enterprise technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, Intune, and modern endpoint management.
  • Strong proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly PowerShell, with experience automating administrative tasks, reporting, and configuration management
  • Strong knowledge of networking and security technologies, including switching, firewalls, VPNs, & WiFi
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting Microsoft Power Apps, Workflows, Power Automate to streamline business processes
  • Relevant IT related tertiary qualification
  • Microsoft certifications, such as M365 certified (administrator, security, or modern desktop), Azure Administrator or equivalent, Microsoft identity, security or infrastructure fundaments
