Job Description

About the Role

As the Senior Advisor in the Learning, Education and Development (LED) team, you will play a key role in partnering and consulting with stakeholders across Wellington Free Ambulance (WFA) to analyse capability development needs, and work with the wider LED team to design, develop, deliver and evaluate effective capability development programmes and initiatives.

Your strategic input will ensure our people have access to exceptional learning, education and capability support that meets the highest standards, supports a thriving and dynamic workforce, contributes to WFA providing leading edge patient care and being a great place to work.

This role supports the complete lifecycle of the Learning, Education and Development work programme, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality specifications.

You’ll work within our close-knit team of learning, development and clinical education experts and alongside the Head of Learning, Education and Development, offering strategic support, advice and guidance on key initiatives.

Who we are looking for

You’ll be someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, stays organised under pressure, takes ownership of your work from start to finish and works collaboratively with others to achieve goals.

You will need:

  • A passion for all things capability development and a strategic mindset.
  • 4 + years of experience in learning and development or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated capability in stakeholder engagement, relationship management and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously, and within a small team to plan and deliver work to high standards.
  • A natural flair for organisation and the ability to employ structured methodologies and approaches to planning and organising, resulting in successful delivery of work across multiple priorities.
